Ending the 2017 season on a very positive note with the brand new Yamaha YZF-R6, Kallio Racing continue to bring positive news, as they announce the signing of Belgian rider Loris Cresson for 2018 in the FIM Supersport World Championship.
Taking four podium finishes and two victories this season, the privateer team have been showing solid improvement and have shown they have the pace and ability to ride up at the front of the ever competitive class. Signing 19 year old Cresson, who has impressed the team throughout 2017 with an eighth position finish around Imola on board an R6, they are looking forward to helping him realise his potential.
At the young age of 19, Cresson already has a wealth of experience behind him with Moto3 appearances, WorldSSP entries as well as time spent in the all important CEV Championship.
Cresson explained his delight at the news: “I’m very happy to join the Kallio Racing Team. This is a big opportunity for me after the good season I had in 2017, I feel really confident to give my best to bring the colour of the team to the front. The team had a really good first season in the World Championship, fighting for the title battle until Jerez. On my side I have shown my potential with the wildcard appearances I have made, that I can race inside the top 10. It is really motivating for me to get the confidence from them and Yamaha, to trust in me for the next season. I’m really impatient to begin the first test with the bike and the team. “
Vesa Kallio, team manager added: "We are looking forward the cooperation with Loris. He is young and hungry rider, who has proven to have a good pace. I believe that in Kallio Racing he can be even faster. By focusing on the right things, we expect to bring out and realise his whole potential which will be shown as good positions in the time sheets."
